About Me

I am the owner and administrator of a large early learning center in Wisconsin. I have been an early childhood educator since 2005 and the owner of a group early learning center since 2014. I have a B.A in Art History from the University of Wisconsin- Madison, and Early Childhood Leadership Credential, and Early Childhood Administrator’s Credential, and an Early Childhood Program Development Credential all from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I am also a Tier 3 Wisconsin Registry Trainer and technical assistant, as well as a contributing author to the early childhood magazine, Exchange. My family includes my husband, my son, twin daughters, as well as adult twin stepdaughters. We live in Wisconsin. I have been a Wisconsinite since 2000 when I moved from my native Chicago suburb to Wisconsin for college. My hobbies include tennis, running, walking, hiking, biking, swimming, reading, yoga, and painting. I have dedicated my career to early childhood education and to creating a community where everyone feels safe and valued and has the opportunity to grow into the best versions of themselves. I feel so blessed that I can be a part of making a positive impact on people’s lives. My workdays are filled with children’s laughter and their ever-present joy. I can’t imagine anything better than that!
I started this blog because I wanted to have a larger impact and build my community. When my twin daughters were born my life suddenly reached a new level of overwhelming and I found myself constantly criticizing myself for not doing a better job. I was putting unrealistic expectations of my own making on myself and making myself miserable. I started struggling with depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress syndrome. As I found the strength to start tackling these issues I realized, with the help of several therapists, that I was catastrophizing everything and this was sucking my energy and my soul. I started taking smalls steps to pause, recognize the joy in everyday moments and to let go of what I thought I should be. It is still a work in progress but the transformation so far has been life changing. Please have an open mind and take this journey with me!
